Hi! My name is Ms. Pat and I am a Pre-K, Library, and Music teacher at Holy Cross Lutheran Academy. I have been teaching children since 1980 and have been working at Holy Cross Lutheran Academy for over 10 years. I have a multi-subject K-8 teaching credential and site supervisor credential. While I have taught
children ages 6 months to eighth grade, I have found that I enjoy working with early elementary and preschool thru 3rd grade the most. I use a lot of music in the classroom and try to engage the students through song, movement, and using
multiple learning styles.
I was born in Michigan and moved to California when I was four. I have two
brothers and a sister. We all took piano and organ lessons. During the summer we were members of the Carmichael Beavers Swim Team. I graduated from Mira Loma High School, and enjoyed participating in the school’s athletic teams including volleyball, basketball, softball, and track.
I graduated from American River College with an AA in Early Childhood Education. After receiving my AA, I attended National University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with a depth in Cultural Studies. I continued on and earned my Multi-subject Teaching Credential.
I am happily married to my husband David and have four sons : Christopher, Joshua, Samuel, and Benjamin. We have a dog, two finches, a toad, a bunny, six ducks, lots of chickens, a goat, and some sheep. Some of my favorite past times include camping, fishing, hiking, skating, boating, and being with family. I sing in the church choir, play the piano, read, and teach piano lessons for relaxation. I love working in the garden and growing my own food, as well as working out and doing water aerobics. I’ve been to Ireland and hope to visit other places in Europe.
