We Are

Holy Cross Lutheran Academy is a Christian-based early childhood learning center that provides half-day educational programs, in addition to morning and afternoon childcare for children ages 2 through kindergarten. Our purpose is to guide and support each child’s social, emotional, academic, physical, and spiritual development.

We Do

Our commitment is to provide an engaging learning environment where children flourish and parents feel confident about their children’s safety, as well as the strong academic foundation they receive. Children are provided with hands-on experiences that broaden their understanding of the world around them while developing critical-thinking skills.

Our Academic Programs

Holy Cross Lutheran Academy offers a wholesome education and prepares students for a brighter future. We offer five programs for children at various ages.

Preschool prep is intended to help children achieve mastery of autonomy skills, which includes toilet training, communication, socialization, independence, movement and coordination, and early academic skills. This is a fun and exciting time for exploration! We believe children learn by interacting with the world around them. Children are not required to be fully potty-trained and may begin as early as 2 years old.

Preschool and pre-kindergarten are designed to help children get ready for kindergarten. Children are provided with a variety of materials and experiences. We emphasize developing skills in the following areas: language and literacy, mathematics, scientific reasoning, visual and performing arts, communication, social studies, time and spatial relationships, and movement and coordination. We have carefully selected a curriculum that supports developmental practices and prepares children for success.

Transitional kindergarten programs adhere to state standards, with the added benefit of a small class size of 12 students taught by an experienced, credentialed teacher. All curriculum choices support current core standards for TK and kindergarten. Children develop confidence as they learn critical thinking, reasoning, communication, interpersonal, technology, and academic skills. Physical fitness and coordination are important components of the program, as are visual and performing arts.

Similar to TK, our kindergarten program also follows state standards and has a credentialed teacher overseeing a 14-person classroom. We help children build self-esteem and teach them to utilize critical thinking, reasoning, communication, metacognition, technology, and analytical skills. Important aspects of this program also include physical fitness, body coordination, and familiarity with visual and performing arts.

To make the children’s academic experiences as well-rounded as possible, students are exposed to a loving Christian environment, learn about the Gospel, and grow in the knowledge of the Christian faith.

Our Reliable Childcare Solutions

In addition to our academic programs, we offer year-round childcare before and after school that’s designed to enrich what children are learning at each stage of their development. We also have part-time and full-time summer enrichment programs for children between the ages of 2 and 8, which take place in June, July, and August.
