Academic Programs and Childcare Services in Rocklin, CA

Here at Holy Cross Lutheran Academy in Rocklin, CA, we go out of our way to make sure our services are of high quality. Every program decision we make is designed to meet the needs of your family. For your convenience, we offer both full and half-day programs.

8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (Before and after school care available)

Our highly trained and experienced teachers facilitate age-appropriate activities in a stimulating classroom environment. Our innovative curriculum encourages kindergarteners to develop critical thinking skills, and learn to be independent and productive individuals. Our program is unique by offering a small class size.

Transitional Kindergarten(TK)

8:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (Before and after school care available)

Studies suggest a child’s self-esteem can significantly affect his or her academic success. By giving them additional time to prepare for the more rigorous kindergarten routine, we effectively allow them more time for children to build this critical self-esteem. We offer TK for children who turn age 5 by December 2nd. Our TK classes are limited to 12 students.

Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K)

8:45 a.m. – Noon (Before and after school care available)

Our pre-kindergarten (Pre-K) program essentially prepares children for kindergarten. Our teachers focus on helping each child make the most of his or her learning style. Teacher-led group activities, indoor and outdoor play, exploration of interests, and learning new lessons are all part of the child’s Pre-K experience.

8:45 a.m. – Noon (Before and after school care available)

The preschool program at Holy Cross engages children using the Core Knowledge Preschool Sequence in a highly supportive and stimulating environment. We address each child’s specific learning styles and needs in the classroom to plan age-appropriate activities. Our preschool program is for children who turn age 3 by September 2nd and are fully toilet trained.

Preschool Prep

8:45 a.m. – Noon (Before and after school care available)

For children with limited experience away from home, preschool prep is a great option. Our preschool prep program aims to help children socialize with their peers, improve communication with adults and other children, and develop more autonomy overall, including toilet training. Children are eligible to attend when they turn 2.

Morning and Afternoon Enrichment

Our enrichment program provides before and after school care designed to engage children 2 years through early elementary in planned activities that extend what they are learning in their classroom.

Children participate in activities that include free play, learning centers (e.g. art, science, listening, music, etc.), group activities and games, snack-time, quiet time, and indoor and outdoor play (both guided and child-initiated).

Our morning and afternoon staff collaborates with one another to support, enrich, and enhance what the children do throughout the day. Ongoing communication also helps keep parents informed about their child’s day.

Our enrichment program can be summed up in 3 words: nurturing, engaging, fun!

Summer Enrichment

We are open year-round and offer part-time and full-time summer enrichment and childcare to children ages 2 through 8 during the months of June, July, and August. Our summer program is designed to encourage children to explore galore! Children learn through rich experiences with their teachers, peers, and environment.

Children are exposed to a variety of activities that are intended to stimulate the mind and spark the imagination. During the summer months, children continue to learn skills that will help them prepare to return to school in fall. Low teacher to student ratios enable us to provide children with more individualized attention and stimulate higher levels of thinking through meaningful and personal interactions. Our goal is to continue to help children develop a love of learning by creating a supportive environment that is inviting, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for young children. Additionally we are able to focus on providing enrichment in a child’s area of struggle. Parents prefer our childcare service because they can trust us to keep their little ones safe and happy, while children love our program because we allow them to spend time playing with friends and having fun.
